Spars
State-of-the-art ,Carbon fiber / S-glass Hybrid epoxy prepreg Construction, One piece or unique Two piece design (introduced during the 98 season)that allow stiffer tip sections of minimum dimension to be removed from highly flexible lower tube. This allows for ease of transport as well as fine tuning capability. Precision slip fit connection requires no fasteners.
All spars are custom engineered to suit the individual sailor's weight and plan spring rate. mast weight and VCG, are near minimum to class rules. The specific mechanical properties of Carbon and S glass are incorporated into the laminate producing the most reliable, durable, design on the ice while being the lightest in weight.
A data base from years and hundreds of spars containing flex rates around both axis, flex characteristics such as top/bottom panel relationships and there developed curves. All of which go into every CSI spar laminate design.
Entire mast comes complete with halyard and Awlgrip clear coat gloss finish. Spars are available in two levels of completion:
- "Complete" - One or two piece as described above.
- "Kit Form" - This includes all below hardware (loose) and a one piece tube with luff grove rough cut and as molded exterior surface.
- "T-Fitting" Hound Attachment
- The original "T fitting " hound attachment introduced to the class, aerodynamically clean ,providing full articulation, easily connected to spar without tools.

- Custom CNC machined black anodized hardcoat mast step plug with four position socket adjustment On the inside, the mastplug contains a square recess into which an optional internal stiffener tube may be rigidly fastened in the proper orientation as needed for varying flex properties.

- CSI's own custom thrust bearing mast socket fitting. Uses standard 5/8" thread , Black hardcoat anodized . A must for racing.
